When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, profile picture, commute details (city, transit stop, departure times), and a government-issued ID for identity verification. When you complete a match, we process your payment via Stripe — we do not store your full card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to verify your identity, match you with other members on similar commute routes, process payments, and send you notifications about your account and matches. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Profile Information Visible to Other Members
Verified members can see your first name, last initial, profile picture, commute route (boarding stop, destination stop, transit type), departure time range, and bio. Your email address and government ID are never shared with other members.
4. Identity Verification Documents
Government-issued ID photos are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket. They are reviewed only by our trust & safety team. ID documents are deleted within 30 days of account closure upon request.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services: Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (transactional email), and Vercel (hosting). Each has its own privacy policy governing their use of your data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, contact us at femuteadmin@gmail.com to request deletion of your personal data. Some data may be retained for legal or financial compliance purposes.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To make a request, email us at femuteadmin@gmail.com. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of Femute after changes constitutes acceptance.
